Welcome to the 1st Annual Dystonia Awareness Don't Come Event. Dystonia is a neurological disorder causing involuntary, sustained muscle contractions that result in repetitive movements, twisting and abnormal postures. An estimated 300,000 people in North America have dystonia. Dystonia is beginning to affect so many people world wide, the urgency to raise awareness in hope of driving research to look for a cure, is becoming an important mission.

The Dystonia Awareness Don't Come Event is a fundraising function for busy people like you, who like to support good causes but would rather not go to a function. Our goal is to expand the awareness of Dystonia and by so doing encourage research professionals and others who can help to care for a cure. For people who suffer with Dystonia lack of awareness is no laughing matter. Together with your support, we can show we have a heart and by showing awareness, make strides toward finding ways to cope with this disease as well as finding a cure.

The First Annual Dystonia Awareness Don't Come Event Fundraising Dinner to be held starting on Valentine's Day through Friday, Feb 16th at 6AM, 5AM, 8PM, respectively at the Byatt-Royal Hotel in Dearborn, Michigan, will be consecutively hosted by Guests of Honor, Ellen Degeneres, Drew Carey and Stephen Colbert, speaking on "Having Dystonia is No Laughing Matter". You are encouraged to show your support for this truly exceptional heart-moving event.

Proceeds from this fundraiser will be distributed amongst various Dystonia medical research organizations to support awareness and continue research for better treatments - and - a cure.
